happy birthday it snowed today the same way it did on your 21 birthday .It was a great party up state kris style bash missed see you when I get there
I am one of the fortunate ones that knew Kris since the day he was born. I am Eileen's life long friend, Margaret. Since we were single parents and lived next door to each other when the kids were little, my son, Mike, D. was also Kris's life long friend. Even when Kris was a little boy, he was the "Go to Guy" then. He did everything he could to help his Mom.
I'm sure all of you loved his sense of humor as much as I did. Since I spent a lot of time at the house, I got to see how his relationship was with Pete. Listening to them talk was like an Abbot & Costello routine. Kris also played a lot of jokes on Pete which were a riot.
For my son's 40th birthday, we all went on a cruise together to Bermuda. Kris & Laurie, Pete & Eileen, Mike and Deborah and myself. Pete was staying in the biggest suite on the ship which he called "The Owner's Suite". The first night we went to the dining room for dinner, they sat us at a rectangular table which Pete hates. He likes a round table so he can get everyone's attention when he goes into his routine. After dinner, Pete complained to anybody that would listen . He said, "I'm Pete Franco, I have the Owner's Suite, I want a round table and that's that". The next night was elegant night so Pete was in his white dinner jacket and when we all gathered for dinner, I saw something on his back. When I looked closely, it was a sign that said, "I'm Pete Franco, I have the Owner's Suite, I want a round table and that's that". Needless to say, we were all hysterical and Pete had no idea why strangers were looking at his back and walking away laughing. Laurie felt sorry for him and took it off but after a couple of minutes, he did something to piss her off,so she stuck it back on.
That was just for starters. We had the greatest time and so many laughs. I have tons of stories as I know a lot of you have. The picture on the web site shows Kris and Mike on the ship in Bermuda. Eileen and I were so happy that they had remained friends through all the years. As we all do, my son misses him like crazy.
We have been back to Bermuda a couple of times since we lost Kris, of course, it will never be the same. He was a good friend to me and would also do anything he could to help me if I needed him. Eileen and I get together and talk about him but the house is not the same without him there either. I'm just glad I have so many wonderful memories of him. I will never stop missing him
As sick as he was, he was out there saving the world. I was his mom's crazy old friend but he did love me. He died on my 70th birthday.
