When I lost my love, Stephen, back in 1993, Kris was there for me and helped me get through the sadness and loneliness that comes with losing a dear one. Now when I need a friend the most, my dear friend, Kris, isn't there. I hope you know how much you are loved and sorely missed. Be at peace dear one and know how many lives you touched and are still touching. Love you and wish you were here.

I received this note in the mail from my dear friend Laura.  Somehow she knows just how I feel.  I want to share those feelings with you.

Please, don't ask me if I'm over it yet - I'll never get over it

Please, don't tell me he's in a better place - He's not here with me

Please, don't say at least he isn't suffering - I haven't come to terms with why he    had to suffer at all.

Please, don't tell me you know how I feel - unless you have lost a child

Please, don't ask me if I feel better - Bereavement isn't a condition  that clears up.

Please, don't tell me you had him for so many years - what year would you choose for your child to die?

Please, don't tell me God never gives more than you can bear

Please, just say you are sorry.

Please, just say you remember my child.

Please, just let me talk about my child.

Please, mention my child's name

Please, just let me cry.

A friend
Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

I worked with Eileen and Pete for years until they became surrogate parents to me.  I loved them more than parents because I would take their advice before my own parents.  Through them of course I meet Kris.  If I could have picked a big brother, it would be Kris.  In addition to being handsome and happy, he could never do enough for Eileen and Pete and any of the millions of friends he had.  I didn't hear the nickname "go to guy" until after he was gone but it was so appropriate.  Kris would go and get Pete's car fixed everytime he backed it into the garage.  He would go and pick up anything Eileen needed and anytime.  I remember at Patsy's funeral, she was flanked by the two pillars in her life, Kris and Steven.  We all lost a great man.  Rest in peace Kris!
